THE CROSSROADS OF DESTINY
The Story of Goh Yin.

Amongst the three, Goh Yin was born and reincarnated first. Born a Singaporean Chinese, life for her was pretty much normal. She has both her parents, and elder twin brother, and a younger brother. Of course, being an incarnate of Lu Qiuyue, she inherited some similar personality traits. Being soft spoken, kind, and as well as her love for herbs. That, and her lack of expression.

Growing up, she studied medicine. Particularly, in the traditional sense rather than modern. Upon graduating, her uncle invited her to work with him in Japan to open a Chinese Tea and Herb shop; a two in one shop of being a teashop and herb shop. Because she would get the chance to work with herbs, she accepted. She would work there with his uncle and cousin. But of course, before anything, she had to study their language, and so she did.

A change in lifestyle was a great experience for Goh Yin. She was able to learn a lot that was not in her culture. She found the people around the area she lives and worked in very friendly, although there is always one or two jerks around, but none that inconvenienced her yet. A month passed, and Goh Yin pretty much got used to her new life.

A year passed then. An odd man walked into her shop, looking a bit lost. That man was Io Junji. Almost in an instant, their eyes met and at the same time, felt as if they were drawn to each other. This was the work of their colliding destinies.

Goh Yin’s heart thumped like it had never before. Something about that man he just locked eyes with was making her feel weird in a calming way. Yet… Very nostalgic. Ah but, him walking into the shop, he was still a customer. Odd feelings aside, she decided to just casually approach him like any other customer.

“May I help you?” Goh Yin asked while approaching Junji who was now looking over the herb display.

“Oh umm… N-No. I was just looking. You have a really interesting and diverse amount of herbs.” Junji stuttered at first but the turned to Goh Yin with a calm smile. “Ah! I’ll have some tea please. What do you recommend?”

Goh Yin stared at him blankly for a moment. “Of course. Please do have a seat.” She said as she went to take the tea menu and opened it to a certain page. “Our recommendation is our traditional Chinese Herbal tea. But… You seem quite anxious. Almost out of place. Personally, I would recommend Passionflower tea instead.”

Junji took a seat near the counter and blushed slightly when his anxiousness was pointed out. “W-Was it that obvious? Ah… Well anyway, I will take what you’ve recommended.” He smiled.

Goh Yin’s heart almost skipped a beat seeing that smile. “Certainly.” With that, she went behind the counter to prepare the tea. As she did, she decided to have a little chit chat with that mysterious man that had drawn her interest in an odd manner. “Can I ask? You just returned from a visit at the grave didn’t you?”

Junji almost fell off his chair. “H-How did you know?”

“That leaf on your jacket… It’s comes from a tree that only grows near the graves here. So I observed.”

“Ah…” Junji swiped the leaf off his jacket.

“Visiting a family grave?”

“No… A lover… It’s the fourth year anniversary of his death. Ah well… Not exactly, to be more precise, today was the day we became lovers. His fourth year death anniversary won’t be until the next 8 months.” A sad tone came from his voice.

His? Did she hear that right? No matter though. She didn’t mind. To her, anyone is free to love whomever they please. After all, even her twin brother is currently dating a man. “I’m… Sorry to hear. My condolences.” She then brought over the tea to Junji.

Somehow, the two ended up conversing further. Junji too took a liking to the shop, tea, and Goh Yin. Something drew him there after all. And ever since that day, Junji would regularly drop by the shop to have tea whenever he was feeling down. At the same time, to meet with Goh Yin. And Goh Yin in turn, was very happy whenever Junji came for a visit. She loved hearing his stories, as does he with hers.

And that was Goh Yin’s first turning point in the crossroads, as well as how both Goh Yin and Io Junji’s crossroads clashed each other’s.
